What Makes Us Different

R.A. Fulton Construction specializes in true custom construction. Whether you are building new, remodeling, or adding on to your existing home, our process is set up for you to have the final say on EVERYTHING going into your new house. We are different from other contractors in multiple ways.

The first way we set ourselves apart is by utilizing what's called a cost plus contract. We believe that cost plus contracts are the best way to build a quality, truly custom home with complete transparency between us and the owner. We will not estimate a price, lock you into a contract for that price, and then find contractor that can do it cheaper. As you get through your build, you will see the exact cost of every dollar spent on your project. This transparency keeps us honest to you, and gives you the ability to add, subtract, or change your mind throughout the build. If ideas change, there's not ten hoops for you to jump through to get that change certified, it just gets done. This contract helps expedite the end of a project, when you are seeing the finished product come to life, but just have a few things you would like to do differently. Changes happen. If we're building your home, the last thing we want to do is tell you that you can't have it exactly the way you want it.

The second way we set ourselves apart is the subcontractors that we use. Our goal is not to source the cheapest contractors or produce the most inexpensive homes. We are committed to building to the highest-quality. All of the contractors on an RAF site are experienced professionals who are plenty familiar with our expectations. We have built good working relationships with them and continue to try to use them on all of our projects. This is beneficial in many ways, with the biggest plus being the finished product. Our framers, electricians, insulators, you name it, have an understanding of what we expect on site. Because RAF is on site every day, our contractors are able to diagnose problems and get questions answered immediately, helping to prevent items from getting missed or forgotten. 

The third way we set ourselves apart, but definitely not the last, is our company size and project list. RAF is not competing for any "most houses built" award. Quality homes take a lot of time and attention. We have kept our company small simply because we have such a high expectation for perfection in our houses. We will not have just any supervisor watching over our project. When building with a lot of companies, you will work with a salesman up front, then maybe get to meet the owner so you feel important, then you'll work with the project manager through the build, and finish is up with a service number that is who to call with issues. When you build with RAF that will not happen. You will speak with the same person on your first day meeting us as you will the day you move into your new home.
